Habbas & Live Projects

Very few schools have a concept of life projects. By far i think Prakriya' s concept of a Life project is the best. Life projects were lessons of patience, resilience and creativity for me. I learnt how to be open to new perspectives. It is the most practical way to introduce Macro Concepts and apply them to existing local contexts teaches one to learn by multiple ways; It helps one to acquire life skills through experiences, and not through classroom discussions. We don't read about or discuss "How to perform under pressure?” rather we live it. We don't see a ppt on "Synergy" or for that matter Teamwork", but we just experience it.

I am lucky to have been part of many life projects during my time in Prakriya. The project on paper recycling. the one on food, or the habbas we put together. I remember each one of them. The process itself is pretty amazing - from deciding on the topic, to execution, each stage has its charm and obstacles The habbas were another matter altogether - from writing scripts, to directing to auditioning for a role to costume designing to sound, we students got involved in everything. The excitement before a stage play crafted by my friends and I is a feeling I would love to have again. The name completely justifies the purpose of this project, while doing the project I never realized the skills I was learning would be forerunners on a macro scale for bigger things in life. i learnt how to plan, divide work, listen to others, multitask and lastly push the limit of my creativity. Creativity is uniqueness with a purpose and life projects push this creativity to the limit. I want to thank Prakriya for giving me this opportunity. The experience was enriching and enjoyable. For me, in the end that's all that matters.
